" He is risen"
"He is risen indeed, hallelujah!"

Our family was up earily today to enjoy service this morning with our extended family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The children processed toward the alter to place white flowers on the cross, as tradition is in our church.
Another tradition in our church is to quote the above, He is risen, and someone will respond , He is risen indeed, hallelujah.
This morning pastor challenged us, instead of the typical indeed response, many people would say, "Nonsense" .
Many would proclaim Jesus was a prophet, a good man, a teacher even a holy man but not a risen Savior. Too unbelievable, too unrealistic. Pastor challenged us, reminding us that people have thought other things to be nonsense before.
The earth being round, the planets orbiting the sun etc.
But we are to hold onto our faith, trust in the scriptures and know that the truth of the risen Lord is what will sustain us in life, and in death.
Indeed!
